Working with Mark Gross at Magenta Catering was absolutely one of the best wedding decisions we made. In our meetings prior to the event, Mark was always open to our thoughts and suggestions and definitely gave us the opportunity to make the day uniquely "us." Included in this was my fiance's request to have venison and ostrich as part of our wedding menu! Mark took this idea and created some simply amazing passed hor dourves of bacon-wrapped marinated ostrich and venison meatballs. Even until the day of, Mark was thinking of our event as a whole, and suggested a change from one of our hot appetizers to a cold watermelon option to suit the hot summer day our wedding was on. The food was truly amazing, I still receive compliments from people who say that it was "the best food I have ever had at a wedding, and not even just that, just great food in general." Following our ceremony, the first text messages I received en route to the reception were directly about the delicious appetizers and the great bar staff. The service and food were impeccable. A word to those of you planning a wedding or event: we did not have a traditional "tasting" of the menu as many places do, however I had no doubts as to Mark's culinary talents, and neither should you. Everything was better than I expected. I highly recommend working with Magenta Catering!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chef Mark Gross and his staff! All the food was fantasitc and it even was a hit with my hard to please mother! He was able to work with our budget and the amount of food we got for our money was top-notch! My husband wanted venision chili at the wedding using venison he had killed and Mark was happy to fulfill our request! By the way, Mark's chili is AWESOME with just the right kick of spice!

Mark Gross does a great job. He worked closely with us (and our budget) to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. We did, and it was delicous! He was able to make a lot of wonderful food fit into a tight budget. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Chef Mark Gross really pulled together an outstanding menu of heavy hours d'oeuvres for our reception. We had a cajun theme and he really did a great job for about $20 a head. The presentation was gorgeous and his staff was exemplary. A major plus is that while he provides the bartenders and mixers, you provide the liquor - allowing you to buy in bulk! Big $$ saver! My only "complaint" is that he's very proud of his experience (he used to cater for the Kennedy Center in DC) and he's done a bajillion weddings, so he's pretty steadfast on his ideas. Just be straightforward about your desires and he'll exceed your expectations!
